Court remands grandpa for killing 14-year-old daughter

A 72-year-old man, John Udin, has been remanded in prison by an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrate’s Court for allegedly killing his daughter, Gloria.
The police said the incident happened at Adewole Street, in the Ojo area of Lagos State.
Udin was arraigned on Wednesday on one count of murder.
It was learnt that the accused  had hit the teenager with a piece of wood on the forehead.
Three days after the incident, the late Gloria was said to have fallen ill.
She was allegedly rushed to a clinic in the area, where she died.
The charge read, “That you, John Udin, on October 15, 2013 at 8pm at 18, Adewole Street, Iba New Site, Ojo Lagos in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully kill one Gloria Ejiro Udin, aged 14, by hitting her with wood containing some nails on her forehead and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria 2011.”
The Chief Magistrate, Ms Demi Ajayi, who stood in for the resident magistrate, Ms S.O Solebo, remanded the accused in prison.
