Pastor’s wife remanded in prison for pouring hot water on sister

For pouring hot water on sister, pastor’s wife remanded in prisonAn Ejigbo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State has marched a pastor’s wife, Angela Uzoma to prison.
Uzoma’s journey to the prison yard at Kirikiri started on the day she threw caution to the wind and poured steaming hot water on a girl known in the neighbourhood at Shasha as her younger sister.
The victim, Chidinma Chukwu, was said to have suffered bodily injury, which attracted the attention of a vigilant neighbour, who alerted the police at the Idimu Divisional Headquarters.
Saturday Newswatch gathered that Uzoma’s action followed a low sale recorded by the 14-year old victim, which resulted in her returning home with some unsold pawpaw on the fateful day.
“Truly, the accused later knew she over reacted and tried to cover the incident from her neighbours. But it did not work because the injury on the body of the girl brought a lot of pains to her. This in my view attracted the person who leaked it to the police,” a source said.
Uzoma’s husband was said to have expressed his anguish at the matter, but blamed the devil for the act.
The Magistrate P. E.Nwaka adjourned the matter till December 12, 2013.
However, the embattled husband is said to have been making effort to secure the bail of his wife.
