lllicit affair: Man stabs friend to death

A man identified as Wasiu Yusuf, has been arrested by the police in Ogun State, for stabbing his friend, Adeolu Olatoye, to death over allegation of having illicit affair with his wife.

The incident, the Nigerian Tribune learnt occurred at Oke Efon area of Abeokuta, the state capital, last Saturday.

Upon interrogation, the suspect identified one Mukaila as his accomplice, who was said to be  on the run.

He alleged that his deceased friend was having illicit affair with his friend  and that the two were caught on his matrimonial bed the fateful day.

He said the deceased in the course of a fight that ensued  between them and also while trying to escape, stabbed himself to death.

However, it was learnt that the deceased went to his friend’s house to drop an invitation card of his mother’s 80th birthday slated for the following Saturday before the unfortunate happened.

His remains had been deposited at the state hospital mortuary at Ijaiye, Abeokuta, as police await the autopsy report.

When contacted, the command’s Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa  Adejobi, confirmed the arrest of the suspect  and said investigation into the incident had commenced.
