Just four days after the Lagos State Police Command paraded the ‘one million one’ robbery gang, the command has achieved another feat today.
This time, the command has arrested four men, suspected to be members of a gang of robbers, who stormed and attacked some banks in different parts of Nigeria.
It was gathered that three members of the dreaded gang died in a gun duel with Special anti-robbery policemen, while four were taken alive.
And just as the police command promised yesterday, more of the ‘One million one’ robbery gang members, were part of the suspected criminals in police net.
An additional 160 men, believed to be members of the “one million one’ robbery gang in Ajegunle, were held.
This swells the police net, bringing the gang members of the one million one gang in police net to a stunning 290.
This new arrest came just days after members of the gang in a vendetta move because of the first sets of members that were arrested, allegedly wrote letters to landlords in Ajegunle and its environs, informing them that the gang would soon carry out series of attacks on them.
A cache of arms, including some police arms and admonition and a police uniform, believed to have been taken from slain policemen were recovered from the arrested suspected armed robbers
The items recovered from the suspected four bank robbers are;  seven AK-47 rifles, 700 rounds of live ammunition, one K2 Police rifle,,  one LAR police rifle, with 20 rounds of live ammunition, a LAR rifle magazine, three Pump Action Rifles (PAR), five dynamites   and a police Inspector uniform.
The commissioner of police, Prince Umar Manko, assured Nigerians that the continual onslaught and arrest of suspected robbers and criminals, was to ensure that people in Lagos have a crime festive
Manko alleged that Kingsley Ekwueme, the fourth member of the bank robbers, was as the owner of the Toyota Sienna space bus and further accused him of being the armourer of the gang.
Speaking on the arrest of more members of the one million one robbery gang members, Manko said: “We are still going to raid more places. It is a continuous exercise.  We want to ensure that residents of the state enjoy peace, especially during the forthcoming festive period.”
