PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of five new permanent secretaries and the redeployment of 11 others in the Federal Civil Service.
The new permanent secretaries were sworn in on October 17 by the president.
The appointment and redeployment of the permanent secretaries was contained in a statement made available in Abuja on Monday by the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Alhaji Isa Bello Sali, and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Establishment and Records, Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mr Charles Bonat.
According to the statement, Mr Alhassan Gana, a new appointee, was posted to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (Cabinet Secretariat); Mr Sunday Jegede, who is also newly appointed was posted to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (Political Affairs/Economic Affairs).
Others are Dr James Obiegbu, Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (Career Management Office); Ambassador Sani Bala, Federal Civil Service Commission and Mrs Folasade Yemi-Esan, Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (Establishment & Records Office).
Those redeployed are Dr A.K. Muhammad, who moved from Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (Cabinet Secretariat) to Ministry of Works, while Alhaji Bukar Aji was moved from Ministry of Works to Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (Common Services Office).
Others are Alhaji Mohammed Bashar, who moved from Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (Common Services Office) to the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs; Mr Charles Bonat, Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation (Establishment & Records Office) to Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (General Services Office).
