Six people died in auto crash, boy 10 lives to tell the story of accident
Sixteen people died in a motor accident, which occurred at Osin River, a suburb of Ilorin, the Kwara State capital. The incident involved a trailer loaded with bags of beans coming from the North and an 18-seater commuter bus.
One of the survivors of the accident was a 10-year-old boy rescued under the wreckage of the vehicles some hours after the tragic incident.
Eyewitness account told Saturday Sun that the commuter bus was conveying passengers returning to Gbadamu-Ologi village, Ilorin East Local Government from Oke-Oyi market, where they had gone to shop in preparation for the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
He said that the accident occurred when the driver of the trailer lost control of the vehicle while descending a slope at a high speed and crushed the commuter bus, which was maneuvering the rough part of the spot.
