The Lagos
State Police Command has arrested a Federal Road Safety Officer, for issuing over
500 fake number plates today.
The arrest
of the officer, (names withheld) was made possible by two young ladies whom
police flagged down for having a fake number plate.
When the
girls were told that their number plate was fake, they could not believe it.
Determined to
prove that they had bought a genuine one from the right officer of the law,
they took policemen to the FRSC officer’s office at Toll Gate.
The officer
was whisked away to area G, Ikeja, Ogba, where he is presenting writing a
statement.
Preliminary investigations
revealed that the officer had allegedly issued over 500 fake number plates to
unsuspecting members of the public.
