The treasurer of the Delta State University, Abrakachapter of the
Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Sir Martins
Denedo, was yesterdaykidnappedat his residence in Abraka and promptly
rescued the victim unhurt.
The police authorities said they killed three of the suspects and
arrested three others who abductedDenedo and “rescued him unhurt.”
A family source toldLEADERSHIP SUNDAYyesterday that they returned
from church service and were about opening the gate when the gunmen,
numbering about eight, took the victim away.
He said the abductors shot sporadically into the air to scare people away before taking their brother to an unknown destination.
When contacted, the Acting Police Public Relations Officer, ASP
Famous Ajieh, confirmed the incident but said he was yet to get the
details.
