Eight people, including a baby lost their lives in an auto
crash which occurred at Mowe on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Sunday
afternoon.
According to a report made available to newsmen by the Sagamu unit commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lasisi Ogundele, said the accident involved an articulated vehicle with registration number YOBE XB503FKA and a Mustibushi Spacewagon marked LAGOS GGE 540XC.
It was gathered that the heavy-duty vehicle driver was reversing when the wagon, which left Kuto garage, Abeokuta enroute Lagos State rammed into it.
Four males, three females and a baby died on the spot, while one of the passengers escaped unhurt.
The victims, according to Ogundele, where evacuated and taken to the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital Mortuary in Sagamu.
Ogundele added that the scene of the accident had been cleared for free flow of traffic, urging road users to be careful.
