Police arrest 7 cultists during clash

SEVEN people,  suspected to be cultists have been arrested by the police in Ojota area of Lagos State, after a bloody clash between two cult groups.
One person was reportedly killed in the bloody clash, which started from a disagreement over beret cap.
Two locally made pistols, two axes, two cutlasses and other dangerous weapons were recovered from the suspects, who were all said to be artisans and bus conductors
The Nigerian Tribune gathered that a member of the Eiye fraternity was reportedly wearing a blue beret, when some members of the cult group accosted him and ordered him to remove it, leading to a clash between Eiye fraternity and an unidentified cult group.
It was also  gathered that 11 people were initially arrested but four of them were released, after preliminary investigations revealed that they were not cult members.
According to investigations by the police, the clash started last Wednesday night,  at Ogunletti Street, and later spread to other streets in Ojota.
A police source, who pleaded anonymity said that, “We are on the trail of a student from Lagos State University (LASU), who allegedly recruited these artisans into the cult group in Ojota.”
The police source also hinted that the police in the state had identified an hotel in Ojota , where members of the secret cults are initiated.
When contacted, the image maker in charge of the state police command, Ngozi said she was not aware of any arrest and declined comment on the death of one of the cult members.
