Chief Medical Director of the Federal
Medical Centre, Azare, Bauchi state, Dr Musa Mohammed, was on Sunday
abducted and killed by unidentified gunmen.
Some gunmen also killed the District head of Yamai, in Dambam Local Government Area of the state, Alhaji Manu Yamai.
The gunmen were said to have escaped
after the dastardly acts. It was not, however, clear whether the two
incidents were carried out by the same group.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Hassan Auyo, confirmed the incidents to PUNCH Metro on Sunday.
He said, “About four hoodlums first
abducted the chief Medical Director of the Federal Medical Center, Azare
and later killed him while some hoodlums also robbed the district head
of Yamai, Alhaji Manu Adamu, before killing him.
“The hoodlums escaped through the bush immediately after carrying out the deadly acts.”
Auyo said the police had commenced
investigation into the incident, assuring that the culprits would be
apprehended very soon to face the law.
The police spokesman enjoined the public to give information to the police that could lead to the arrest of perpetrators.
