Police in Bauchi State said yesterday they had arrested a 20-year-old
boy, Sani Haruna, for allegedly kidnapping his stepmother and demanding
N100,000 ransom from his father.
The suspect allegedly connived with
his friend, Bello Ibrahim (21), to abduct the victim.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Haruna Mohammed,
said in a statement that the suspects kidnapped the victim on June 18
about 5p.m. Mohammed said police detectives attached to Ningi Division
arrested Haruna of Batu village in Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi
State.
He said: “The suspect conspired with his friend, Bello Ibrahim, male
and 21 years, of the same address, kidnapped his stepmother and demanded
N100,000 ransom from his father to secure her release.”
Meanwhile, the suspects are in police custody while their victim was
rescued in good condition. The woman has since been reunited with her
family. The PPRO said the case was under investigation after which
suspects would be arraigned.https://newtelegraphonline.com/boy-kidnaps-stepmother-demands-n100000-ransom/
