Each girl promised N400,000 annual income
The policemen were said to have tracked down the leader of the syndicate, identified as Mrs. Ifeoma Daniel, who fled to Lagos as soon as she learnt that police had broken down the door of the room and rescued the girls.
But the police arrested Daniel’s co-worker, Collins Maduekwe. The police said Maduekwe’s work was to ensure the girls had sex with everyman willing to pay for their services. A police source said: “Our men acted on a tipoff by a neighbour.
The neighbour alleged that some persons had been locked inside the room for days.” When the door was bust open, six ladies, identified as Blessing John, Chidinma Amakwe, Nancy Azubuike, Chiamaka Eze, Beauty Ndulue and Amarachi Chinedu were rescued.
The source added: “The attention of the neighbour was attracted when the girls started fighting inside the room. When efforts were made to enter the room, it was discovered to be locked. They alerted the police.
Shortly after, the girls were rescued. They said they were lured by Daniel to come to Abuja and work as prostitutes. Part of the agreement was that each of the girls would be paid N200,000 every six months.”
The girls were rescued on June 17. The suspect and victims have been handed over to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Persons and Other Related Matters (NAPTIP) for further investigation.https://newtelegraphonline.com/fct-police-rescue-six-girls-sex-slavery/
