A 33-year-old man, Falowo Kayode, was arraigned before an Ogba Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State for allegedly killing a sheep valued at N60, 000.
The sheep is a property of Mr. Abdulrauf Abdulfatai. Kayode, a resident of
Karaole Estate, Ifako-Iyaiye, is being tried for willfully and unlawfully
killing a white coloured sheep and causing breach of peace.
The accused was arraigned before Magistrate Mrs. G.O.
Anifowoshe on a three count charges. According to the prosecutor, Inspector Idowu, the accused
committed the offences on October at Karaole Estate, Ifako-Iyaiye, Lagos State.
Idowu noted that the accused committed an offence contrary to and
punishable under section 349 of Criminal Law, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria
2015.
He said: “Kayode did unlawfully damaged fence, entrance door and
water tap valued at N13, 600 and did conduct himself in a manner likely to
cause the breach of peace by banging the main entrance door of the victim house
and hereby put him into panic and thereby committed an offence contrary to and
punishable under section 168 of Criminal Law, Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria,
2015.”
He told the court that when the complainant discovered that
his sheep was disappearing, he confronted the accused and demanded that he
should repay him, but the accused refused.
However, the accused pleaded not guilty to the charges against
him. The
Magistrates then adjourned the case till December 6, 2017.
