The Chairman
of the Police Service Commission, Sir Dr. Mike Mbama Okiro, a retired Inspector
General of Police has congratulated the Service Chiefs whose tenures were
extended by President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, December 18th,
2017.
They are General Abayomi Olonisakan, Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. General
Tukur Buratai, Chief of Army Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok –Ete Ibas, Chief of Naval
Staff and Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, Chief of Air Staff.
Sir Okiro
said the extension was worthy and deserving and speaks volume of their
commitment to national service. He expressed his personal joy on the milestone
and said he was identifying with them at this moment of recognition and
national pride.
In a letter
of congratulation to the Service Chiefs dated 20th December, 2017
and personally signed by him, Okiro stated; I am particularly excited and
thrilled by the rich credentials which you brought into the management of the
nation’s security. I have followed your track record s and can attest to your
strong moral values, high sense of justice and fairness, commitment to duty and
undiluted love for your fatherland.”
He prayed
that God should give them the grace, strength and wisdom to continue to excel
in “this challenging assignment”.
