The contingents of the Nigeria Police Judo Association have won eight
gold and two silver medals at the second edition of the just concluded
One Service, One Medal Games (OSOM), in Kaduna State.
The
association representatives, fighting under 100kg, 90kg, 81kg, 60kg,
+78kg, - 78kg, -70kg and -48kg won eight medals and two silver medals at
+100kg and +78kg.
Those who won Gold medals are Cpl Nelson
Ajero, Cpl Ibrahim Abubakar, Cpl Yohanna Joseph, Cpl. Iliya Sumaila, Sgt
Vivian Okoh, Cpl Bosede Joseph Cpl Dorcas Samuel and Sgt. Lucian
Ekechukwu.
Two others who won Silver medals are Cpl. David Joseph and Insp Bunmi Akindoju.
The
medal winning athletes would be in Edo State in early 2018 where they
would converge alongside others for Commonwealth trials.
According
to the Chairman of Nigeria Police Judo Association, ACP Olatunji Disu,
the athletes are better prepared to do the police and country proud at
any tourney.
Other judo associations that participated in the 7
day tournament include Nigeria Fire Service, Nigeria Prison Service,
Kaduna State Athletes and Nigeria Aviation.
