Nemesis has caught up with two bank
robbers in Asaba, Delta State, who specialised in snatching money from
customers, moments after they had withdrawn money.
The suspects, Sunday Aguelobi
26 and Obumeka Ononogbo, were initially operating with a motorcycle, until it
was phased out by the immediate past Governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan.
The suspects repackaged themselves and
upgraded to the use of tricycle. The suspects’ downfall started after they
trailed Abies Erhahon 32, from First Bank, along Illah -Uromi-Abuja Road, where
she had gone to withdraw money, to Ogbe-Ogonogo Market, were they pounced on
her.
The Delta State Commissioner of Police, Zanna M. Ibrahim, said the suspects broke into the victim's car and stole her handbag, which contained the sum of N240, 000.

Ibrahim further said: “The suspects
will be arraigned in court at the conclusion of investigation. Residents of the
state should be more security conscious so as not to be taken unawares by
thieves, especially during these 'ember' months."
