The Lagos State Police Command have arrested a man who used to hide pistols and ammunition inside bread and butter. The suspect, identified as Preye a.k.a No government, was arrested by SARS undercover detectives, who pretended to be looking for guns and ammunitions to buy.
Unaware that they were policemen,
Preye had attempted to sell pistols and ammunition to them.
After his arrest, Preye knew he was
likely looking at doing a time in prison, and had started singing like a bird.
He told policemen that he used to
buys the guns from militants in Bayelsa and Rivers State to smuggle into Lagos
State, where he sources for buyers.
Once his ‘Goods’ are ready, Preye
would buy a long bread otherwise known as luxurious bread, cut them open and
placed the pistols inside.
He would also buy large sized cup butter
and placed the ammunition inside the butter.
Once it was time to board a bus from
Bayelsa, heading to Lagos, he would subject himself for a search as demanded by
the transport company, while holding his breads and butter.
Most times, when police flagged down
their bus for a search, Preye would bring out his bread, take his butter and
starts eating like he had no care in the world.
After his arrest by the undercover
cops, he took the cops to his lodge. Police discovered ammunition inside
butter.
Preye confessed that he had been into
the business for close to 15 years. He also said that he had never robbed, but
only sells guns and ammunition.
According to him, he sells an English
Berretta pistol between N70, 000 to N80, 000 each. He sells single ammunition
for N1000.
The suspect who said the business was
a profitable one, confessed to have two lovely buildings in Port Harcourt.
