Shun crime, kidnapper tells youths
A suspected robbery / kidnap kingpin, Chukwuma Ukala, now in police net in Enugu State, has appealed to the youth to shun all forms of criminalities in order not to suffer the fate now starring him in the face. The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ebere Amaraizu, said in a bulletin yesterday that the arrest of the kingpin was a major feat by the state Police Command. The PPRO said the suspect had been on the police wanted list for quite some time. Amaraizu said with the arrest of the notorious criminal last Sunday and some other arrests made in recent times, the police were winning the war on crime and criminality.

He said: “There has been a harvest of arrests of several suspected criminals since the renewed onslaught on them. “Following the onslaught, the operatives of the central police station of the Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police Force, acting on the intelligence gathered, arrested a notorious armed robbery and kidnap kingpin who has been on the wanted list of the operatives owing to his involvement in perpetrations of crime ranging from kidnapping to armed robbery.”
Amaraizu explained that the suspect, also known as AKIDI, was picked up at a black spot at Udi Siding axis of Enugu metropolis on Sunday. “He is now helping the operatives in their investigations on his alleged nefarious activities. “The suspect, who is regretting his action, has advised the youth to eschew crime and embrace good virtues as every day is for a thief and one day for the owner of the house,” the PPRO said.
