Police killed conductor, not LASTMA, LAGS insists

Police killed conductor, not LASTMA, LAGS insists The Lagos State Government Wednesday debunked reports making the rounds that personnel of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) killed a  bus conductor, Mr Ikechukwu Abasirim at Rainbow area along Apapa- Oshodi Expressway.
The government said it was the police officer attached to the traffic personnel, who were trying to arrest motorists that committed the act, adding that none of the LASTMA personnel was around when the conductor died.

The government also explained that police attached to the personnel were not supposed to arrest but to protect the traffic management personnel against attack by disgruntled motorists and residents, adding that no police has the right to arrest motorists who contravenes the traffic laws but the state traffic personnel.
