ECOWAS PRE-ELECTION FACT FINDING MISSION MEETS WITH IGP

      ·     SCORES POLICE PREPAREDNESS HIGH AND ENJOINS               NIGERIA POLITICAL CLASS TO PLAY BY THE RULES

The Inspector General of Police, Ag IGP Suleiman Abba CFR, NPOM, NPM, mni, yesterday at the Force Headquarters, Abuja received the ECOWAS Pre-Election Fact Finding Head of Mission to Nigeria, His Excellency John Kufuor, the former President of Ghana and members of his delegation on a working visit to Nigeria ahead of the 2015 General Elections.

His Excellency, John Kufour stated that the visit was to appraise the Nigeria Police readiness towards ensuring a violence free poll. He saluted the Nigeria Police Force for its proactive strategies already put in place at ensuring a peaceful General Elections.
The IGP in his response thanked the delegation for the visit and assured them of adequate Police preparedness towards ensuring a hitch free general election in 2015. The IGP also stated that adequate resources have been committed in the provision of needed logistics to enable effective policing of the election process and that the welfare of the work force is also captured in this strategy. He also stated that Officers and men are being trained on election security, and the expected collaboration is being carried out among all the stakeholders.
