Gunmen kill Julius Berger expatriate, abduct another Armed men have shot dead an official of the construction giant, Julius Berger, while they abducted another at Sagamu area.
The expatriates were on their way to the company’s quarry site at Ogbere in Ijebu East Local Government, Ogun State, when they were attacked.
The state Deputy Police Public Relations Officer (DPPRO), Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Abimbola Oyeyemi, yesterday confirmed the incident which occurred on Friday.
 The gunmen, who reportedly laid an ambush for the expatriates, opened fire on the victims’ vehicle. In the process, one of the men was hit by bullets. He later died at the hospital.

Sources said the driver of the vehicle attempted to make a U-turn to escape from the gunmen, but it was too late. “The hoodlums laid an ambush for the expatriates on the way to their quarry site. They hid in the bush. And as soon as they sited their vehicle, they opened fire on them. “One of the expatriates was hit by the bullets in the process. His colleague was also abducted. The one that was hit by the bullets was rushed to the hospital, where he later died,” Oyeyemi said.
