Benue: Kidnapped Igbo woman found dead in Otukpo

An Igbo business woman, Charity Aba, who was kidnapped last Tuesday night, was on Sunday found dead near Enugu Road Roundabout at Eupi in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State.
‘New Telegraph’ learnt that the corpse of the woman, who sells mostly cooking utensils, was discovered in the early hours of today when worshippers were going to church for the first Sunday Mass and subsequently raised the alarm which attracted the attention of other neighbours and security operatives.
The killing of Mrs. Abba came came just as five suspected kidnappers who have been terrorising residents of Ugbokolo town in Okpokwu Local Government Area were also arrested at the weekend by the police.
Already, a pan-Idoma group has condemned the rising crime wave in Otukpo and other parts of the state in recent times and called on security agencies to rise to their responsibilities.
Secretary-General of the group, Mr. Adoka Adaji in a swift reaction to the murder of the kidnapped woman, condoled with her family and further appealed to the state government under Governor Samuel Ortom to intensify efforts at minimising crime in the state.
Incidentally, the murder of Mrs Abba is coming only a few days after another Igbo woman trader, Mrs Bridget Agbaheme was killed by a mob of religious extremists last Thursday in Kano; while four others were also recently killed in Minna, Niger State.http://newtelegraphonline.com/benue-kidnapped-igbo-woman-found-dead-otukpo/
