‘My sister died with her dreams’

The elder sister of Funmi Odusina, one of the two University of Lagos postgraduate students who drowned in the Elegushi Beach, has said she had a lot of dreams, adding that she died without fulfilling any of them.

The sister, Bukola Odusina, said her sister had dreamed of becoming a philanthropist, an ambassador and a mechanised farmer.
She lamented the death had shattered her ambitions, adding that she spoke with her an hour before the incident.
Bukola, who spoke on behalf of the family, said the death not only thwarted the birthday celebration of their father on that day, but also left a sad imprint as what was supposed to be a joyous day in the family suddenly became tragic.
PUNCH Metro had reported that 25-year-old Funmi and her colleague, 24-year-old Adesola Ogunmefun, were at the beach around 6pm on Sunday to mark their friend’s birthday when a strong tide swept them into the Atlantic Ocean.
Ogunmefun was brought out dead by some swimmers, while the birthday lady, Bolu and Funmi, were rushed to some private hospitals in the area, which reportedly rejected them.
Funmi died on the way to the Lagos Island General Hospital, but Bolu survived.http://www.punchng.com/sister-died-dreams/
