Banditry: Police arrest suspected informants, vehicle suppliers

The Katsina State Police Command announced that it has arrested suspected informants and suppliers of vehicles to bandits in the state.

The police said that on 23rd March 2022, at about 6:30 am, the command succeeded in arresting Ibrahim Abdulrasheed of unguwar mai darasu, Dan Musa Local Government Area, a notorious informant and coconspirator of terrorist.

The State’s police spokesman, Gambo Isah, said: “The fact of the case is, the suspect received the sum of N2,500,000.00 from Kamilu Buzaru, a wanted notorious terrorist who has been terrorising Safana, Dan musa and Dutsinma areas of the state. He then bought a brand new Toyota Hilux meant for the terrorism activities through Abu Kasim, who in turn employed the services of his neighbor, Kamilu alias Ahuwa all of Mara Zamfarawa via Danmusa LGA. Kasim purchased and delivered the vehicle which was handed over to the terrorist at Unguwar Maudarasu village. In the course of the investigation, the suspects confessed to the commission of the offence. The investigation is ongoing.”

In another development, the command arrested another three suspected informants to bandits. The arrest was made on 22nd March 2022, based on a tip-off. Acting on the information, the police arrested the three suspects identified as Nasiru Sadi, 20, Bala Alhassan, 22, and Aminu Abdulra, 20, all of Kabalawa village, Sabuwa local government area. Nemesis caught up with the suspects when on the same day the suspects conspired among themselves and invited bandits hibernating in the forest to kidnap Alhaji Ali and Malam Rabi, was the same day they were arrested.

“In the course of the investigation, the suspects were arrested and they confessed to the commission of the offence,” said Isah.
