How truck crushed ASP, two female pedestrians in Ogun

 …as cops discover pistol in lady’s handbag

An Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and two female civilians have been crushed to death at the Idiroko area of Ogun State.

According to a Police Situation Report (SITREP), the deceased officer’s name is Adejobi Solomon, but his place of primary assignment is yet unknown.

The accident occurred on March 13, 2022, at 7 am, along Winner Chapel Church area, along Idiroko Road, Ota, Ogun State.

The accident involved a Howo Truck with Registration number MUS 853XW. The driver has been identified as Abiodun Olowu.

The SITREP further states: “A Toyota Camry car with registration number, MUS 784EL, was driven by ASP Adejobi Solomon of the Nigeria Police Force, his command yet unknown. Also involved in the accident were two also yet to be identified, female pedestrians. The accident occurred when the Howo Truck, who was coming from Abeokuta axis, heading towards Igbesa, along Idiroko road, Ota, lost control and hit the Toyota Camry car parked by the roadside. The driver lost control, knocked down the pedestrians, and the ASP, who was purchasing food items. The ASP and the two female pedestrians died on the spot.  While Adejobi and one of the deceased females were deposited in a mortuary, the corpse of the other female was taken away by her relatives.  Police visited the scene of the accident and made a rough sketch map. Photographs of the scene and vehicles were taken. The Toyota Camry car was recovered and moved to the station for safekeeping and VIO Inspection. The Howo Truck is yet to be recovered.”

In another development, a 20 years old lady, identified as Funkeye Diribagba, has been arrested in Delta State for being in possession of a Beretta Pistol. The gun was discovered in her handbag by a Highway Patrol Team on a 'Stop and Search' duty. The suspect was among commuters in a passenger vehicle, coming from Bomadi, and heading to Ughelli in Delta State. The suspect was said to be in the company of her boyfriend, later identified as Ezekiel.

According to the Police, Ezekiel bolted, disappearing into a nearby bush immediately the police discovered the pistol.
