Ahead of the forthcoming Easter celebration, the Rivers State Police Command has deployed 3,532 personnel to worship and recreational centers across the state to ensure a peaceful Easter celebration and to stop mischief-makers from causing any form of mayhem for law-abiding citizens.
The State Command’s spokesperson, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Grace Iringe-Koko, in a statement made available to our reporter, said that the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Friday Eboka, has ordered the deployment of personnel to all worship, celebrations and resorts centres, by all area commanders, divisional police officers, and tactical team commanders, under strict supervision, to stop mischief-makers from causing any form of mayhem for law-abiding citizens. In all, a total of 3,532 personnel has been deployed from the Command for the exercise.”
The statement reads: “The Commissioner of Police Rivers State CP Eboka Friday has ordered massive deployment of personnel across the state to provide adequate security before, during, and after the 2022 Easter celebration to ensure the protection of all residents in the state and the success of all activities lined up to mark the celebration. He ordered the deployment of men to all worship centers, celebrations venues, and other resorts centers, by all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Team Commanders, under strict supervision, to stop mischief-makers from causing any form of mayhem for law-abiding citizens. In all, a total of 3,532 personnel have been deployed from the Command for the exercise.
“He equally urges members of the public to be law-abiding and continue to support the police in the fight against crime and criminalities by reporting any suspicious person and movement as he assured of the Command’s commitment to providing security, maintenance of law and order in the protection of life and property in the state. The CP on behalf of officers and men of the Command wishes the good people of Rivers State a hitch-free Easter celebration.”
