Police search woodland for missing teenager Georgia Williams as her friend, 22, is held on suspicion of her murder

Police searching for missing teenager Georgia Williams this afternoon cordoned off a woodland beauty spot as her friend was questioned on suspicion of her murder.
The 17-year-old redhead has not been seen since going round to see Jamie Reynolds, 22, for a photoshoot on Sunday evening.
Officers are searching for the teenager's body in a wooded spot near Whitchurch, Shropshire, around 20 miles from her family home in Wellington. The operation was focussing on a small area next to the pond.
Police said this afternoon that the former head girl, whose father is a detective constable, has not been found.

Georgia was reported missing after failing to meet up with her boyfriend Matthew Bird, 18, on Monday morning to travel to a music festival.
In a Facebook post last night, he described the search for her as a 'nightmare' and vowed 'never to give up' the search.

The Next shop worker, who bought a dozen red roses for the teenager just a week before she went missing, ended the moving plea for information with the words: 'I will find you'.
He wrote: 'I'm so worried about her and we need her back, I love you Georgia'.

Superintendent Nav Malik said: 'I make it very clear, folks, that we have not found Georgia Williams at this moment in time.
'She remains elsewhere - we are not quite sure where. We are really, really keen to identify where she may be, her whereabouts and I urge the public to support us in trying to find out where she may be.'
Reynolds, 22, was originally held over the alleged kidnap of Georgia but was today rearrested on suspicion of murder.

The teenager was last seen on Sunday evening when she left her family home in the Shropshire market town of Wellington to visit that of Jamie Reynolds nearby for the photo session.
Mr Reynolds was arrested in the early hours of yesterday morning at a budget hotel in Glasgow 280 miles away on behalf of West Mercia Police – the force for which Miss Williams’s father Stephen works as a detective constable.
Supt Malik confirmed that they were questioning a 22-year-old on suspicion of murder.
'The arrest of the suspect for murder follows developments in the investigation since yesterday afternoon but for operational reasons and because we have someone in custody I am not able to give any further details about that at this time,' he said.
'However I would like to stress that Georgia Williams has still not been found and achieving that is still the primary focus of our investigation.
'Therefore we still urgently want people to come forward and tell us if they have seen or had any contact with her since 7.30pm on Sunday when she left the family home.'
Miss Williams, an RAF cadet, has been in a six-week relationship with fellow college student Mr Bird.
In her final Tweet the former head girl told friends she was worried about something.
The Tweet, posted at 10.36am on Sunday – nine hours before she disappeared – said: ‘Worst nights sleep in ages. #needsleep #stuffonmind now can’t get back to sleep.’ Police said the Tweet was not believed to be relevant to the investigation.
Her father Stephen, 57, his wife Lynette, 52, and daughters Scarlett, 22, and Roxy, 13, were said to be ‘devastated and distraught’ yesterday.
It is thought Mr and Mrs Williams believed their daughter had let herself back in to the house on Sunday evening. They discovered she was missing on Monday morning.
By then she had failed to keep the rendezvous with her boyfriend to go to the music festival in Wolverhampton.
Superintendent Malik added: 'I would remind people that Georgia, who is white, 5ft 3ins, slim and with long, dyed, red hair, was last seen wearing a waist length black leather jacket over a white T-shirt which has a London bus motif on it.
'She was also wearing black, skinny jeans and flat, black suede slip-on shoes.
'We also want to hear from anyone who may have seen a silver Toyota Hiace 300 GS panel van, registration CX06 ASV, which know took a route from Wellington to Oswestry in Shropshire before moving on to Rhyl, Chester, Kendal in Cumbria and then Glasgow.

Miss Williams, an RAF cadet, has been in a six-week relationship with fellow college student Mr Bird.
The Next shop worker, who bought a dozen red roses for the teenager just a week before she went missing, ended the moving plea for information with the words: 'I will find you'.

On Wednesday night he wrote: 'Right please can people share this around.

'If anyone has seen or heard from Georgia Ferret Williams since Sunday evening then please can they please contact me, her family or the police.

'We are all hoping she's alright and safe but any information no matter how small is needed.

'I'm so worried about her and we need her back, I love you Georgia and I will find you.'
She was reported missing after failing to meet up with him on Monday to head to a music concert.
Dozens of friends posted messages of support for the Matthew.
Friend Jess Richardson wrote: 'We are all here for you no matter what! i went to college with her and she's amazing! lovely and caring girl! dont give up.'
Matthew replied: 'I'm never giving up.'
In a conversation with another friend, Ellie May, Matthew revealed his anguish at Georgia's disappearance, describing it as a 'nightmare'.
Ellie wrote: 'Nothing just seems real anymore just like a big dream.'
Matthew replied: 'Nightmare.'
'If you think you saw this vehicle either en route or parked somewhere between Sunday evening and when we recovered it in a car park in Glasgow city centre yesterday then please let us know.
'The vehicle had ladders on the roof and we know it was driven by the suspect prior to his arrest.
'The smallest scrap of detail could be vital to our enquiries so even if you think it may not be important please tell us so that we can check it out.'
Mr Reynolds lives with his mother Kay, said by neighbours to be a teacher, stepfather Shaun Thomas, an electrician, and sister Brogan, 19, in a neat three-bedroom semi in Wellington.

Forensic experts continued to search Reynold’s home, which is just half-a-mile away from Georgia’s, for clues.
Police previously put out information about a silver Toyota Hiace van they believe was used by the suspect to travel from Shropshire to Glasgow.
Officers said the vehicle was captured on Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras travelling through Oswestry, Rhyl, Chester and Cumbria but the images did not show who was inside.
