The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a female lawyer, police corporal and three others for robbery.
They were arrested during a stop and search exercise. The lawyer, identified as Ify, was driving, while the police corporal was sitting beside her in the car to parry suspicious policemen from flagging down their car.
The other three sat in the back seat of the car.
The lawyer had been identified by anti-robbery men, attached to SARS Ikeja, as a lawyer who always frequents the command, bailing suspects held in connection with robbery allegations.
The lawyer has been described as ‘highly connected.’
Recovered from the lawyer’s gang were two locally made guns, one pump action gun and assorted charms.
Ify had however knowing the suspects, claiming that she only gave lift along the way.
Investigations have revealed that police corporal is serving in Calabar, Cross River Command, but used to come to Lagos, to rob with his gang.
While Ify denied being a robber, or even aiding robbers, the occupants, insisted that she was part of their robbery gang.
The gang allegedly used to break into shops and warehouses to rob.
