Ondo regent’s kidnappers demand N20m ransom

Barely 48 hours after the Regent of Akungba- Akoko in Akoko South-West Local Government Area of Ondo State, Princess Oluwatoyin Omosowon, was kidnapped, his abductors have reportedly demanded N20 million ransom from the community.
The abductors were said to have contacted some people in the community.
But the Chairman of Akungba-Akoko Development Union (ADU), Dr Bode Ekundayo, said the kidnappers had not official contacted the community. He, however, said the rumour was rife in the town that the abductors had demanded a ransom.
Ekundayo said it was a rumour as there had been no official communication between the community and the abductors. He said the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Lasisi Oluboyo, and other top government officials had visited the palace and assured the people of the readiness of the government to secure the release of the monarch.
