Gunmen abduct female Customs officer in Lagos

Gunmen yesterday stormed Tastee Fried Chicken (TFC) on Number 22 Road, FESTAC Town and abducted a female official of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Comfort Alaba.

Alaba is said to be attached to Tincan Command SDV, a bonded terminal of the NCS. She was said to be in front of TFC with her two daughters, when the masked men came out of their car and whisked her away.
One of her daughters, Faith Alaba, disclosed her mother’s abduction on the social media. Faith called on Nigerians to help her family to track the abductors. “My mother was kidnapped this evening in front of me and my younger sister in a black Murano jeep.
Please help me. “We were at TFC at 22 Road, FESTAC outside in the car and two men came around. My sister ran out of the car. My mother was still screaming and struggling when the other one pointed a gun at me.
We ran away and by the time we looked back as we were screaming for help, they zoomed off with her inside. “Please reach me and my family here on 08166098469. She was in a black Murano jeep.
This is the number plate -EPE103CY. God, please don’t let my enemies laugh at me. She is everything to us,” she tweeted from @Pyt_Faith. Faith later told journalists on the phone that she saw the abductors at close range but would not be able to recognise them because they were masked.
She added: “I don’t know if anyone has any grudge against my mum but I am appealing to them to please free her. Already, we have notified the police at Area E Command but nothing has been done so far to the best of our knowledge.
“However, we have not been contacted by the kidnappers. My mother is smallish in stature. She has gap teeth and has a huge birthmark on her arm, which is arrow-like shaped.” NCS Tincan Island Command Public Relations Officer (PRO), a Chief Superintendent of Customs, Uche Ejesieme, confirmed the incident.
He said: “The lady is attached to SDV, one of customs’ bonded terminals attached to Tincan Island Command. The family has reported to the police and the police are investigating with a view to rescuing her. Also, the command has informed Customs Headquarters about the incident.”
