Nigeria Immigration promotes 3000 officers

The Nigeria Immigration Service has promoted 3000 officers.

Among the 3000 newly promoted officers, 74 are from the Lagos State NIS Command

The Comptroller of Immigration, Lagos State Command, Mrs. Clara Okojie, who decorated the officers under her watch with their new ranks on Thursday, warned them to see the promotion as a call to greater service.

Okojie said: "I urged you to see this gesture as a call to higher responsibility and dedication to the service of our dear country. To whom much is given, much is expected. We all have a duty to make this nation a great one. Let it be known, that the failure of any individual to do what is expected, is of grave consequences to the larger society. I urge you all, to give voice to our national resolve, which is- ‘Change Begins With Me.’ The need to depart from the past ideology of doing government work in an irresponsible manner, is no more!”

The Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Lagos State Command Mr. Jide Ogungbe, a Deputy Superintendent of Immigration, said: “The Lagos State Command made an impressive record of having 75 officers, earning their new ranks out of 3000 officers promoted nationwide.  Seven officers were promoted to the rank of Deputy Comptroller of Immigration; eleven of them were promoted to the rank of Assistant Comptroller of Immigration, while 59 others were promoted to different Superintendents cadre.”
