Teenager rapes 11-year old girl, appears in court

 
19-year old Zion Emori was arraigned before an Ikeja magistrates court on charges of raping an 11-year old little girl(name withheld).

Emori committed the crime at his residence in Gbeni Gbeni area of Oko Odo, Abule Egba road in Lagos State.
It was learnt that the victim was a neighbour’s daughter who also resides on the same compound. He lured the little girl to his room with the false pretence of sending her on an errand to buy snacks for him. Immediately the innocent girl entered Emori’s room, he grabbed her and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her. It was the shout of the girl that attracted her mother who ran to the scene and discovered the teenage boy had raped her daughter.
Emori himself was said to have made to the door and escaped until he was arrested by Oko Odo police division.
The matter was transferred to the State command where it was charged to court.
Prosecutor. Simeon Imonwa told the court that the accused committed the crime on December, 6 and was caught when the victim’s mother rushed to the scene.
“ A boy who should be a school boy has advanced to the crime of rape is a serious matter , and the society should not take such matter with levity .The victim was lured by the boy into his room under the guise of sending her on an errand , he grabbed her and raped. It was the girl’s mother on hearing her daughter was shouting, rushed to the scene”.
Imonwa said the offence contravenes and punishable under section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

Emori pleaded not guilty to the charge and was admitted on bail in the sum of N300,000 with two sureties in like sum by Magistrates Mrs. B. O. Osasunmi. She adjourned the case to January 24, 2017 for mention
