Nnewi market chairman kidnapped


BARELY 12 hour after the demolition of the house of a kidnap suspect, Mr. Emeka Ezekwe at Ihiala, Ihiala Council Area, Anambra State by Governor Peter Obi, daredevil kidnappers same day at 9:30pm reportedly kidnapped the chairman of Nnewi market Traders Association, chief Chizie Akudolu, aka Iroko
He was said to have been kidnapped in his Nnewi residence by a seven man gang that rode in two vehicles, Toyota Camry and a Mitsubishi bus.
According to Nigeria compass investigation, he was forced into his own SUV jeep and whisked away to an unknown destination.
Reacting to the incident, the south east chairman of the Traders Association, Chief Okwudili Ezenwankwo, said that they later dropped his jeep at Ojoto, Idemili south council Area, about 8 km away from Nnewi.
He revealed further that series of meetings were ongoing sequel to the incident, stating that the traders were worried.
It would be recalled that the victim has been at the fore front in fighting kidnapping at Nnewi and its environs.
Contacted on the incident the state police public relation officer, PPRO, Mr. Ralph Uzoigwe, pleaded for time to make contact.
