Boy, 15, arrested for stealing, selling female under wears to group of girls

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested five suspects for allegedly stealing female under wears for ritual purpose.


The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Bala Elkana, who confirmed the arrest, disclosed that the suspects were arrested by operatives from Ojo Police Station on January 10, at about 8am following a tip-off.

According to Elkana, 15-year-old Chukwajekwu Eziigbo residing at Ilufe area Ojo was the first suspect to be arrested in connection with stolen female under wears from clothesline.

He was later used as bait by the police to catch four females later identified as Chidima Obietuake (17), Chikwaka Chidima Jemfe (17) Gold Enyinnaya (23)  and Akomas Amarachi (26) all of Ilufe area, Ojo. 

During interrogation, Eziigbo confessed to have been hired by the four ladies to steal female under wears, after which they pay some certain amount of money.
Elkana said: “The suspect confessed that for one year now, he has been stealing female under wears from different houses in Ojo and its environs. He said that he usually hand over the stolen under wears to the female suspects for a payment.  The suspects have been arrested and they confessed to the commission of the crime. Detectives recovered some stolen female under wears from the suspects. Investigation is ongoing, the suspects will be charged to Court.” 

In another development, the police said it has arrested a notorious traffic robbery suspect and a cult leader, who has been on Police Wanted List for long.
Elkana said that detectives from Bariga Police Station on January 11, at about 11:15pm, arrested 23-year-old Olowolayemo Sodiq of No 10 Onenaya Street Bariga.

His accomplice was initially arrested by detectives from Bariga and transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) on December 10, 2019. The suspect has been on Police Wanted List for series of traffic robberies and cult attacks in Bariga. The Commissioner of Police Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu, has ordered that the suspect be transferred to SARS for further investigation and diligent prosecution.”
