THREE persons died on Friday in an auto crash which occurred
at Egbado junction on the Abeokuta-Lagos expressway way in Ogun State.
The Itori Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Mr Fatai Bakare, told newsmen in Abeokuta that the incident occurred at about 7.30 a.m.
He blamed the accident on speeding and reckless driving.
Bakare said a Mitsubishi pick-up vehicle marked LAGOS LSD 267 XC on top speed lost control and rammed into a moving unmarked articulated vehicle from behind.
“Three out of the eight persons involved died on the spot while five other persons sustained injuries.
“The driver of the pick-up vehicle was so reckless that he could not control his vehicle.
“All the three persons that died were in the pick-up vehicle and their bodies had been deposited at Ifo General Hospital.
“After clearing the vehicles off the road, my men are now on ground monitoring the traffic situation in the area to forestall a traffic build up,” he said.
