THE Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Abubakar, has deployed
crack team of detectives from the Force Headquarters in Abuja to fish
out the suspected abductors of an industrialist and founder of Yinka Oba
Foam, Chief (Mrs) Yinka Obaleye and secure her freedom.
Briefing
the media, in Osogbo, on Thursday, the Assistant Inspector General of
Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 11, comprising Osun, Oyo and Ondo states,
Mr David Omojola, said the Police would soon apprehend the suspected
kidnappers.
Chief (Mrs) Obaleye was allegedly kidnapped by gunmen
about three weeks ago at the frontage of her foam industry in Ilesa,
Osun State, around 7.15p.m shortly after she left her office at the end
of work for the day.
According to Omojola, “We are absolutely
committed to tackling cases of kidnap in Osun. The IGP is also
interested in assisting Zone 11 in its operation. He has already
deployed crack team of detectives from Abuja to fish out the kidnappers
of Chief Obaleye and very soon, the woman would regain her freedom.”
Speaking
on the forthcoming 2014 governorship poll in Osun, the Police boss said
“we have set necessary machinery in motion to ensure peaceful conduct
of the election. No stone would be left unturned in the preparation for
the election.”
