A robbery suspect (name withheld) who has been terrorizing motorists in Enugu State
has been arrested by eagle eyed police men at the Ogbadibo Local Government
Area of Benue State.
Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Daniel Ezeala, in a chat told our reporter that the suspect was arrested with chains of arms.
Ezeala said on receiving information about the suspect's hideout, the police patrol team quietly got hold of him while he was just preparing to go out for operation.
The PPRO said there was no exchange of fire during the arrest and noted that the people of the area cooperated with the police.
Ezeala urged Benue people to look out for strange faces during the Yuletide period, which robbers often regarded as a period of boom. He assured members of the public, that this year, criminals in the state would be disappointed.
He said the police command has spread its dragnet for criminals who had been operating with the suspect. He disclosed further that contact was being established with neighbouring police commands, to work in synergy to reduce crime at the border areas.
