Awka Diocesan Catholic Priest, Rev Father Emmanuel Dim, who was
kidnapped on Tuesday by Fulani herdsmen in Enugu State, has been
released.
A source close to Awka Catholic Diocesan Secretariat said the
priest was released yesterday after frantic efforts by the Bishop of
Nsukka Catholic Diocese, Most Rev Godfrey Onah.
Onah was said to have reached Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on the phone
and asked him to do something urgently not only to save the life of the
priest but to remedy the already battered image of the state over the
activities of herdsmen. Consequently, Ugwuanyi was said to have directed
the security agencies in the state, who were said to have moved swiftly
to rescue the priest.https://newtelegraphonline.com/abducted-catholic-priest-freed/
