Abducted landlord’s kids abandon school

  • We’re closing in on Isheri, Epe kidnappers –AIG
Children of one of the landlords, Mr. Kennedy, abducted at Isheri community on the fringe of Lagos and Ogun states have stopped going to school and relocated to their village.
This came as the Assistant- Inspector-General of Police (AIG), in charge of Zone II, Onikan, Lagos State, Mr. Abdulmajid Ali, yesterday said that police detectives were already closing in on those behind the Isheri and Epe abductions. A resident at one Isheri, said Kennedy was the only one taking care of his children and guardian to his late sister’s children.
He said: “Mr Kennedy’s wife died two years ago, while his sister died last year. Kennedy’s children and his sister’s children are all living with him. None of them is up to six years. He has been managing to cope with life. Since he was abducted, none of those children has gone to school. One of their relatives from the village came this morning to take them to the village. Even if you sell his house and properties, you will not get the N50 million ransom the kidnappers are demanding.
“We have started praying for God’s intervention. Even the Federal Government cannot bring out such amount of money. May God touch the kidnappers’ hearts! Just because someone has built a house, doesn’t mean the person is wealthy. Some of these landlords are managing; some converted part of their building into offices in order to be able to fend for their families.”
Meanwhile, the AIG, Ali, said plans were on to build additional police station in Isheri to fight criminals and check militants’ operations. He said: “On security situation in border towns between Lagos and Ogun states, we are making efforts to police the areas adequately and build more police stations to complement those we have on ground before. We are not looking at issue of boundary before we carry out our duty between the two commands. Ours is to police that axis.”https://newtelegraphonline.com/abducted-landlords-kids-abandon-school/
