Three held for car snatcher, drug peddling

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three suspects, who allegedly specialized in car snatching and drug peddling.

According to the police, the suspects were arrested on December 30.
The suspects are Musiriyu Adeniyi 34, Olamilekan Abolade, 34 and Shola Shoduke, 30.
Adeniyi was arrested at Sunday Market in Ogba, Lagos State, while opening a car with a locally made Master Key.
After his arrest, Adeniyi confessed to have snatched and sold several cars. He also confessed to burglary and drug peddling. Adeniyi was used as bait to catch Abolade and Shoduke.
Items recovered from these suspects are 18 kilograms of weeds suspected to be cannabis and 200 grams of white substances assumed to be cocaine.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, said the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations were concluded.
Imohimi promised Lagosians that he wouldn’t relent in his efforts to arrest criminals in the state.
He added: “We will continue to make sure that the criminals face the full wrath of the law no matter their social status.”
Abolade and Shoduke said that they were arrested on their way to their friends' place.
Shoduke said: “I’m a panel beater. I have never smoked Indian hemp or indulged in sniffing cocaine. Olamilekan and I were arrested in our area in Agege on our way to our friends' place.”
Abolade, corroborating Shoduke’s story said: “I’m a welder by profession. Everyone in my community can attest to that. I was arrested along with Shoduke on our way to a friends’ place.”
