Oyo NURTW election: Tokyo not eligible —National president
THE national headquarters of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has concluded arrangements to conduct election into offices in its council in Oyo State.
National President of the union, Alhaji Najeem Yasin, made this known in an interview with the Nigerian Tribune, on Wednesday.
Yasin said the return of peace to the state council of the union necessitated the resolve to hold election in the council.
He said the national executive met in Abuja on Tuesday and issued out forms to the caretaker committee headed by Alhaji Taofeek Oyerinde, also known as Fele, for onward issuance to intending contestants.
He, however, pointed out that a former chairman of the union in the state, Alhaji Lateef Akinsola, also known as Tokyo, was not eligible to participate in the election, as he had completed his tenure as chairman.
