Police Arrest Kidnap Gang Leader In Asaba



Police detectives in Asaba Delta State have arrested a kidnap kingpin who has been on their wanted list in the last two years.
According to the police spokesman in the state, DSP Charles Muka who confirmed the arrest of the kingpin, he said he was  arrested in Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area of the State.
While saying that the gang members specialized in sending threatening text messages to unsuspecting business men and women including making GSM calls to their victims, DSP Muka explained that the suspect had been asking his victims’ relations to pay ransom before they are released.
He said that on November 8, 2012, one of their victims, Mrs. Orumgbe Veronica reported to the police that some kidnappers were threatening to kidnap her if she did not pay N50million ransom to them. The police spokesman however, identified the numbers as follows; 08068113653, 08168837108, 08138762748 and 08121104769, adding that the police acted on a tip off and swung into action. 
According to them, they monitored the bank transactions of account number 0029593154 of a new generation bank the suspects gave to the woman into which she was to pay the ransom.
He said that based on intelligence gathering and collaboration with the bank officials, one Osemeke Kingsley, the owner of the account and the leader of the gang was arrested.
