Fire outbreak in OBJ’s house, temporary setback —Isa Yuguda

GOVERNOR Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State has commiserated with the former Head of State, Chief Olusegun Aremu Obasanjo over the fire incident that gutted part of his Hilltop house in Abeokuta, Ogun State, describing it as most unfortunate coming at a time when everywhere was in a joyous mood of Christmas and New Year.
Yuguda also described the incident as a temporary setback for the one time military Head of State, particularly as 2013 draws nearer, expressing confidence, however that the elder statesman would get over the shock and move on. According to him, “ the country needs your experience and advice at this crucial period of our political history.”
Governor Yuguda stated this in a press statement issued and signed by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Ishola Michael Adeyemi. He expressed shock and sadness over the incident but thanked God that no life was lost.
The governor then urged Chief Obasanjo to take the incident as an act of God and accept it with philosophical calmness as well as remain thankful to God Almighty for preserving his life and those of his family members.
He concluded that, “the government and good people of Bauchi state are most saddened by the fire incident and will remain prayerful to God to continue to protect and guard you and your family from future occurrence and give you the courage and strength to overcome whatever losses the fire incident must have brought on you and your family.”
Yuguda then used the medium to appreciate the immense contributions of the former president to the political and economic development of the country, urging him not to relent until Nigeria and Nigerians got better economically and politically.
