Randy DPO: Police made me swear on the bible before giving report for hospital-victim

Fresh facts have continued to emerge about the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), in charge of Onikan Police Station, a Superintendent of Police(SP) Mr. Adekunle Awe, who was accused by his female detainee, Miss. Idowu Akinwunmi of raping her while she was under his custody.
According to the victim, she was made to swear on the bible by the police that she was telling the truth before a police report could be given to her, to go to hospital.
This was also as she further alleged that the DPO made her to wash her vaginal with water doused with Dettol after raping her.
Speaking with our correspondent on Thursday night, Miss. Akinwunmi said: “He said I should wash, but I said no. He started shouting at me, saying he would make sure I and my brothers go to jail. I went into his toilet. There was a bucket filled with water. The water contained Dettol. I used it to wash.”
When the victim finally got to hospital and a test was carried out, there was no sign to show that she was raped. Top policemen investigating the case had however devised another means to unravel the truth.
It will be recalled that on Thursday, New Telegraph Metro exclusively reported that Miss. Akinwunmi accused the DPO of rape while she was in his custody.
According to her, she was arrested on Tuesday about 1: am and the raped occurred in same day at about 10pm.
Since the news broke out, different nongovernmental organizations had swooped on the victim, promising to get her justice.
In the midst of all the noise and confusion, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar ordered the Lagos Command to set up a panel to look into the rape allegation.
While the story of the victim had not changed, the story of the DPO also had not changed. Sources said that Awe said that he was being framed by the girl. He had also said that the way Miss. Akinwunmi was explaining the incident, was not how it happened.
