Alhaji Akeem
Alade has embarked on what he described as, ‘battle for justice,’ against one
Kehinde, whom he alleged attempted to snuff out the life of one of his
employees for some unfathomable reasons.
The victim’
Lateef Ganiu, who is said to be responding to treatment, had more than 35
pellets removed from him, with more embedded in his body.
According to
Alade, he was not on ground on the day of the attack on his worker, Ganiu, but
he heard that the shooter, went into his plot of land situated at the Ikorodu
area of the state and for no reasons, started shooting like he was reenacting a
wild west movie.
People nearby
were said to have scampered for safety, but gunshots were alleged to hit Ganiu.
Alade said: “All I want from the police now is justice! I
want the man to be charged to the court, so that he would explain why he shot
my staff, Ganiu. I see this as a clear case of attempted murder! I don’t even
know the man and I didn’t have any issue with him. But I learnt he was having
issue with the person that owns land beside mine. But why he should jump into
my land to start shooting is what I don’t know and what I wish to understand.”
Alade who said he did not know how many time his staff was
shot, added, “He was shot several times! It’s a miracle that he survived!”
It was gathered that on March, 13, 2014, at about 5pm, Alade
reported a case of attempted murder one of his staff.
Alade reportedly told police that on the same date, at about
3:30pm, Ganiu was shot at the left shoulder with gun by some hoodlums, led by
one Mr. Kehinde and Waheed, at Adamo town Ikorodu.
A police source said: “The victim was rushed to General
Hospital, Imota, Ikorodu. Alade said that when the victim was shot, the suspect
who fired the gun alerted their leader, one Julius and told him that he had
killed one of them, unaware that the victim didn’t die and was listening to the
phone conversation.
“As if this was not enough, when the victim was rushed to the
hospital, one of them located the victim’s ward and made calls to other
hoodlums.”
Alade was alleged to have been told by hospital staff about
the strange visit of the men, who came to hospital and made calls and fearing
the worst, moved Ganiu out of the hospital.
Another police source said: “Police investigators located the
shooter’s residence and arrested him. He had been asked several times why he
shot the victim, but he refused to talk. Investigation reveals that the shooter
and victim or even the victim’s boss is not fighting with the suspect over
anything. There was no reason for the shooting.”
Meanwhile, the victim is said to be recuperating, after
several pellets were removed from his body.
