For 24-year-old Joseph Izu, who played in the defence for Nigerian
Premier League club, Shooting Stars of Ibadan, Sunday, October 16 was
like every other day as he came back to his country home Okarki in
Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State to pay visit before
setting out to Ibadan.
But little did he know that he was not going to take part in the
camping exercise that was supposed to commence the next day (Monday).
Joseph proposed but some unknown soldiers disposed.
He had gone that fateful Sunday to visit his wife and the daughter
and tell his folks that he was going for camping in Ibadan that was
supposed to take him and others to Algeria. Joseph Izu never lived to
actualise him dream as his life was cut short by unknown soldiers.https://newtelegraphonline.com/my-sons-blood-cries-out-for-justice-father-of-slain-footballer/
