Police have arrested some lecturers at the Ambrose Ali University (AAU),
Ekpoma, Edo State, for allegedly being members of secret cult groups
and engaging in cult-related activities.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Haliru Gwandu, disclosed this
yesterday while briefing journalists in Benin. He also said a cache of
firearms was recovered from the arrested lecturers, following raids on
their houses. Gwandu explained that among those arrested was a professor
of Law in whose house a double-barrelled gun, a single-barrelled gun
