A man,
who gave his name as Okechukwu Nwokolo, called me just now from phone number
08034749863 and said he was calling from the office of the Young Shall Grow
transport company at Maza Maza, old Ojo road (by Access Bank), Lagos.
He said
he went with his family of 4 to the Young Shall Grow Park as early as 7am this
morning and bought 4 tickets at the cost of 7 thousand naira per person to
travel to Anambra State for Christmas.
He says the park is swarming with hundreds of
other passengers, many of whom with 2 - 3 months old babies, standing under the
sun after they have all paid same fare to the company staff to travel to
various destinations in the east.
But,
alas, all the staff of the transport company has disappeared- after collecting
7 thousand naira from each of several hundreds of passengers, with no buses to
convey them, and no staff of the company at sight to explain anything to them.
Many are stranded and crying, having paid for multiple tickets for many family
members. What a wicked act!
