12-year-old detonates bomb in Yobe, many feared killed

Many persons are feared killed as a 12-year-old detonated a bomb in Yobe State on Saturday.
The explosive was detonated at Bayan Tasha in Damaturu Local Government Area.

Damaturu is the capital of Yobe State.
Damaturu has been the theatre of several confrontations between members of the deadly sect, Boko Haram, and Nigerian security forces.
Boko Haram had in recent times been using female suicide bombers in committing its attrocities.
The number of suicide bombers that carried out the operation was put at five a source at five.
Another source said the female suicide bombers were two.
However, only one bore the explosive, the sources agreed.
Another source said five persons died while others simply described the casualty figure “as very high”.
Several sources confirmed the development to The Eagle Online.
Security agencies were yet to issue official statements on the development.
